We Win

News bulletin… In this world we shall have tribulation.  Some of us have faced incredible HUGE trials in this life.  As we get older and collect the scars of life our worries increase.  Sometimes there is just too much, life happens too fast.  There are obstacles or people that seem impossible to overcome.  Financial hardships, temptations, depression, fear of failure, all these things are overwhelming.  We get paralyzed with anxiety and feel so inadequate.  I’ve been there – you name it and I’ve freaked out about it.  I wonder everyday if I am being a good enough parent to my children, am I being the husband my wife deserves, am I doing everything I can to be the best disciple ever for Christ.

The truth is I am not – by myself I fail everyday.  I can’t tackle the trials of this world alone, but I can through Christ.  As a matter of fact, He has already overcome this world for me – that’s AWESOME!!

Phil 4:13

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

John 16:33

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

One of my favorite stories of the Old Testament is when a very young David gets wind of this man eating giant that is threatening the people.  No one wanted to fight this eighty foot tall killing machine, but David rushed in and said who does this creep think he is and does he know the limitless power of our living God.  WOW – if only I were that courageous.

 I Samuel 17:26

26…for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

It is so easy to feel defeated.  At times we all tend to focus on our own inabilities while losing sight of God’s unlimited power.  Yes there will be difficult days, but we are not victims.  We get cast down, but not destroyed.  We can’t, but God can.  Do what you can do, and let God do the rest.   Believe who God says you are – we are more than conquerors through Christ.

Romans 8:37

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us

You know some stories are fiction. Some would say my life is a fairy tale, but it is real. My Lord and Savior has blessed me beyond measure with an amazing wife (she is my best friend), four beautiful children and an incredible church family.

  • Don’t tell God how big your problems are. Tell your problems how big your God is!

  • Well, said Mr. M:) I absolutely could use this right now…….thank you and glad you have decided to write your thoughts down, I’m really enjoying them…….now you may have to remind me every once in awhile to read them, but I will:)

  • Brother, these are some good thoughts. If only I could seem to get these in my mind and keep them there, and put aside the worries and concerns that seem to run constantly. Seems like a constant battle these days.
