Who Do You See

Do you sometimes lack confidence?  You don’t feel like you have what it takes to get through life – much less today.  Well I promise you that our Father Jesus Christ has much more in mind for your life on this Earth than merely existing.  It’s amazing how quickly our adversary gets in our ear to tell us we can’t do something.  He helps us make unfair comparisons which make us feel seriously inadequate.  We tell ourselves we are not as talented as him, not as Godly.  He is SO organized ALL the time – I’ll never be like him.  She is SO beautiful; her hair does that flip thing that mine won’t do.  Her kids always have shoes on in public AND matching socks.  I can’t live up to that.  I’m not good enough – I don’t measure up.

Well here is the GREAT NEWS!!  God sees more in you than you see in yourself.  When the Lord told Ananias to go to fire breathing murdering Saul he had great reservations.  He said, are you sure Lord?  I’ve heard about all the evil things Saul is doing.  I’m not sure I’m your guy.  But the Lord said go thy way and Ananias ended up praying with Saul and baptizing him.

When Gideon was in the middle of hiding from the Midianites an angel of the Lord called him a mighty man of valor.  Gideon was very afraid.  He had no confidence in his abilities, but God saw more in him than he saw in himself.

Judges 6:15-16

15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.  16 And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

The truth is it’s much less about you than you think.  If you say you are not good enough, you don’t measure up – you are right.  It’s not our abilities or our confidence we need to put our trust in.  Our focus needs to be on God’s power, God’s grace and God’s strength.  His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

 2 Corinthians 12:9

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Step out of yourself and into His calling.  Through God’s grace we are the salt and the light of this world.  Go in the strength He has already given you.  It’s really ALL about God.

  • This is me all the time. I feel so intimidated when watching so many other sisters, and how they seem to have everything together, and alot of days I’m just in survival mode. It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who has those days.
