Radiant Light

Throughout the different stages of our lives we are often pressured by our peers to “fit in”.  It seems we spend our whole life worried about what others think about us – we’re consumed with it.  We long for the approval of others.  So much so that we sometimes compromise our values just to fit in with the crowd.  Tragically this could be one of the greatest limiting factors in our life.  Becoming obsessed with what people think about you is the quickest way to forget about what God thinks about us.

 Proverbs 29:25

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Who among us today doesn’t want to be safe?  Our Father in heaven has promised to keep us safe if we put our trust in Him and not this world.  Start focusing on pleasing God instead of pleasing people.  I promise it is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone, – you will never do it.  But we can please God.

 Galatians 1:10

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

As parents we are sometimes pressured into making decisions based on what other parents are doing.  Leaders are often influenced by what others might say.  We’re living for the approval of people instead of the approval of God.  If we are worried about what others are doing we are followers not leaders.  God has empowered us to be the salt of the Earth and the light of the world.  Let your light shine.  Stop living for the crowd and start living for an audience of one – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
